The new album of neverdream talks about the tragedy of chernobyl(russia april 1986).
the concept was divided in two sections:
the first one looks at the tragedy from different points of view:the rescuers’,the inhabitants’ and mother nature’s ones.
the first section has its main trck in “victims”.it is about a child with a cancer (caused by the nuclear radiations) who lives in orphanage.
each rhyme is a reflaction of his dreams about a live he will never have.
the second section turns around the crisis of a russian comunist soldier who had been faithfully fighting for his nation during the cold war.
all his believes just fall down when his wife an his doughter died after chernobyl nuclear explosion.
he suddenly understands that the values and the faith for nation he had been defending trough years are just lies.
this terrible truth to his eyes just brings him to the suicide.
NEVERDREAM was founded in 2000 in Rome with Giuseppe Marinelli on guitar, Alessandro Marinelli on bass, Mauro Neri on keyboard, Gabriele Palmieri on drums and Giorgio Massimi as the lead singer.
Right away, the bands starts writing its first songs in which a quest for a personal style is overseen.
In Summer 2004, Alessandro Marinelli, decides to leave the group due to personal issues. Federico, who was already playing with some members of the band in other projects, becomes part of NEVERDREAM. The band starts taking much confidence in their own means, working on the lyrics of the new songs, such as "No More Tears" and "Rain of Sorrow" where they experiment with new sounds. In April 2005, the band starts recording "Rain of Sorrow" in their "Dream Studios" under the supervision of Gabriele himself.
NEVERDREAM continue working right after their release, writting new songs inspired by the idea of producing a "concept" album, based on the true story of "Christiane F. and
the children of the Berlin zoo". In the meantime, the band starts receiving aproval both from the general public and from the music critics. The album already was named: "Chemical
Faith/Christiane F". The new songs are more personal than before, the composition is more mature, the search for original sounds and composition become more personal. The mix of power and melody put together with progressive elements and thrash now have new influences, more dramatic, with gothic influence and dark paths.
Moreover, this album introduces the new member Fabrizio Dottori on sax.
In 2007 the band begins the works for the new album, also as a concept. The treated theme is the tragedy of Chernobyl, the explosion of the bielorussan nuclear plant that provoked enormous damages to international level.
The album comes to light in the spring 2008, after 6 months of songwriting and of recording.
The title of the new work is "SOULS 26 APRIL 1986": 8 songs of heavy sound, aggressive and sadly intense. Adjectives that describes the sound of NEVERDREAM.
The album has been recorded in "controfase-studios" of Vittori Marchetti (september 07-january 08) and was mixed and mastered at "INDISCREET AUDIO STUDIOS, of Achim Köhler. A wellknown mixer of the european music-scene, he worked with bands like Primal Fear, Nevermore, Sodom and so on. |
